This Health and Safety Representative Refresher course has been designed to update the skills and knowledge of elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) who have completed the introductory 5-day training program and have continuously held their position without any term breaks.
The HSR Refresher course will cover topics including:
- WHS legislation, and any updates or changes made
- Work Health and Safety Framework
- Managing hazards and risks in the workplace
- Incident/accident investigation
- Risk management, monitoring and notifiable incidents
- Provisional Improvement Notices and ceasing unsafe work
- Consultation, representation, participation and the role of the HSR
This course has been approved by the WHS Commission and meets the requirements of Work Health and Safety general Regulation 21 (1)(b).

Completing the refresher course for elected Health and Safety Representatives will provide HSR’s with the understanding of how best to adequately represent employees, and effectively participate in an organisation’s safety management program.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
